Increasing local, healthy food in healthcare
We partnered with The Common Market, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Philadelphia hospitals and other stakeholders on this campaign to increase the use of locally grown, healthy food in Philadelphia hospitals.
To help shift the considerable purchasing power of these institutions to supporting the local, sustainable food economy, we developed a detailed local food purchasing guide for hospital food service professionals that established purchasing and nutrition goals and promoted resources for sourcing locally. We also designed a promotional and educational package for hospitals to use with the public, including posters, decals and signage, and a recognition system for high achieving institutions.
